COVID 19 – Victorian Lockdown

Business Closure

As of midnight Wednesday 5th August 2020 Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire enter into Stage 4 Lockdown which means businesses will fall into 3 categories.

1. Closed for on site work
2. Open for on site work with a COVID Safe Plan
3. Restricted Operations or industry specific obligations

Regional Victoria goes back in Stage 3 Restrictions which means most hospitality businesses return to take away only.

Travel Permits

Employees required to work will need to have a Travel Permit prepared and signed by their employer (Sole Traders you are the employer and employee).  Permit templates can be downloaded HERE.

Government Funding

Government Funding is now available for businesses in Victoria, $10,000 to stage 4 affected businesses and $5000 for stage 3.

To Qualify you need

1. Be registered for Jobkeeper
2. Be registered for Workcover (Please note Work Safe have changed the rules and you can now backdate your registrations to 1st July 2017.  You will need to pay the premiums due but all penalties will be waived)
3. Prove the location of your business by supplying bill utility or rent bill
4. Provided your Business Income for 2020
